What Do I Wear Duck Hunting?
Given the time of year for our duck season, it can get chilly with colder temperatures. Thus we recommend that you wear the following for duck/waterfowl hunting:
- dark-based camouflage
- waterproof boots
- apparel according to the weather
- layers
- dry socks
- face cover (optional)
Do I Need to Wear Waders?
No, you do not need to wear waders for our duck hunts; however, it is recommended to wear at least knee-high waders to keep you dry, warm, and safe from the elements. Waders are waterproof apparel. The water for our duck hunts is typically 6-10 inches deep.
Do I Need To Have a Permit to Duck Hunt?
Yes, you will need a permit to duck hunt with Rogers Goosedown Outfitters. To pursue, take, possess, and transport ducks, coots, and geese in Missouri, except during the Conservation Order, you must abide by the Migratory Bird/Waterfowl Permit and Stamp Requirements.
What Do I Need to Bring With Me?
All you need for the duck hunts are your guns, your ammo, duck hunting permits, and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Rogers Goosedown Outfitters will provide everything else for your hunt, including still and motion duck decoys, the hunting blind, and a guide. You can expect at least 250 Avery pro-grade floaters and a dry floor so you won’t be standing in 6 inches of water.
Can I Bring My Dog With Me?
Yes, you can bring your well-trained dog/retrievers with you on duck hunts; however, you can not bring your dogs during goose hunts.
